Greg Tisdale – Chief Executive Officer: Greg is the former Chief Financial Officer of Crescent Point Energy, a position he held for the past twelve years and was part of the executive team that grew from a junior oil and gas company to one of the largest independent oil companies in North America. Greg has over 25 years experience in the energy industry working with several respected companies including Crescent Point, Direct Energy, Altagas Services and Shell Trading. In addition, Greg has been a Director of several public and non for profit entities. Greg is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with distinction) from the University of Alberta.
Craig Hruska – Trustee: Craig is the former President and Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Scollard Energy Inc. a private oil and gas production company since the company was formed in October 2006. Craig was President and Director of Addison Energy Inc, a private Canadian oil and natural gas exploration and production company until his resignation in July, 2003. Craig founded Addison in May, 1998 and the private company grew from a startup to 9,000 boe/d and $250 MM in NAV in July, 2003. Craig has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta (1987) and is a Professional Engineer and member of APEGGA. Craig is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Craig currently serves on the Board of Directors of several private companies and not-for profit organizations.
Greg Tooth – Trustee: Greg has over 15 years of experience in commodity trading and private equity. As a director, was responsible for corporate risk management efforts of a $300M+ energy derivative portfolio. Greg has in-depth experience in energy infrastructure, most recently as a founding partner to lead efforts to acquire a $700M gas-fired generation facility in Western Canada, with an aim to structure a high yield public equity offering. Greg has extensive experience sourcing, funding and closing private, mid-market transactions within the SME space. As principal, he led a private investor group in the consolidation of a highly fragmented transportation services business, culminating in the successful acquisition of three Alberta based companies. Greg has a BCom. from the University of Alberta (1994) and is a CFA (1999).
Stephen Johnston – Trustee: Stephen has over 15 years experience as a fund manager from the debt and private equity perspectives. As a senior fund manager at Societe Generale Asset Management UK Stephen oversaw the private equity portion of approximately C$ 500 million in closed-end funds investing across all sectors in the emerging markets of the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, the Baltics and the Middle East. Stephen was a banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”) providing debt and equity financing to companies based in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Stephen also worked as strategy consultant at AT Kearney implementing risk management systems for Swedish investment banking clients – focusing on loan default metrics and as a banker at Baring Brothers in the structured finance department. Stephen co-founded an asset management business with approximately $300M currently in unlevered AUM and growing, including Canada’s first RRSP/TFSA eligible farmland investment vehicle. Stephen has a BSc. (1987) and a LLB from the University of Alberta (1990) and an MBA (1994) from the London Business School.
Michael Cook – Trustee: Michael has over 15 years experience working with SME businesses in many capacities (general business advisory, executive management, sell side advisory, buy side private equity and at the board of director level) over a broad range of industries (oilfield service, manufacturing, technology, distribution and oil & gas, among others). Michael has worked with SME businesses to improve operations, implement financial controls, introduce benchmarking, and to focus on key drivers to increase business value. Mr. Cook holds Chartered Accountant (1999) and Chartered Business Valuator (2002) designations in addition to a BCom. (1993) from the University of Manitoba.
